Botanicals

Textile Sculpture

This ongoing series aims to capture something of the essence and detail of the plants we live amongst. Plants which are celebrated, overlooked or seen as weeds are reframed in a way that makes you look, and look again.

Inspiration comes from the golden age of botanical art. Scientific studies in which the whole plant – flowers to roots – were documented. These are my own interpretations of living specimens, with careful attention given to the form and balance of these natural structures.
