Past Works

British Birds

Fabric, Polystyrene, Wire & 22 ct Gold Leaf

I love the fleeting expressions of birds and have endeavoured to capture something of their character, shape and form. These pieces were made while I was training to become an art therapist, when balance and observation were at the forefront of my thinking.

Hunting Trophies 2008

Wood, Wire, Polystyrene & Fabric

This series of work was made in response to a research trip to Canada, where I investigated the traditional quilt-making techniques of the Mennonite communities. This was funded by a scholarship I was awarded by the Royal Over-Seas League, London.

12 Miles of Yarn

Yarn & steel

I made this piece for my undergraduate degree show when studying Fine Art at art school in Bath, UK. It was shown in various places around the UK and Europe including; art galleries, knitting shows, museums and an international motor show where it was displayed beside real Ferraris.

‘Ripley’s, Believe it or Not’ bought the car to display in their museums of the weird and wonderful around the world.

Knitted Works

Yarn & steel

Before knitting a Ferrari I turned my hand to recreating domestic objects. I was originally inspired by a lady I cared for who spent her final years knitting, most hours of the day.
