About

I love making things and am fascinated by how things are made.

By using craft and textiles as an art form, I am provided with rich social and historical connotations. My interests lie in the tension between material, technique and subject matter and the opportunity this creates to play with ideas and perceptions.

In 2006, I graduated with a degree in fine art from Bath Spa University. At my graduation show I exhibited ‘12 Miles of Yarn’, a full-scale, hand-knitted Ferrari. The piece gained much media attention and I was invited to exhibit it in Amsterdam, Paris and London.

After relocating to London, I wanted to move away from the traditional gallery circuit and work with people. However, I wasn’t sure in what capacity and found myself working in the world of horticulture. I loved this unexpected and often highly creative tangent, but knew I wanted to share my passion for art with people who might find it beneficial.

I completed my training to become an art therapist in 2010 and worked in a number of settings with both children and adults, while also having time to make my own work and still working ad hoc in horticulture.

In 2018, I moved to Winchester with my husband and two children. After a break away from work to raise my babies, I have returned to my studio. ‘Botanicals’ draws on my experiences of the last few years. My passions for plants, making and striving for balance all play a part.

I hope you enjoy looking at my work. If you have any questions or comments, please contact me.
